Go Endorphin's!
There is a paved trail behind the Heath High School.
I discovered this path when I ran my first 5k race a month ago.
You can park by the track field, its a perfect place to join the course. I have been hitting it hard this week today is my peek day because it is in the middle of the week. So I decided to make the loop once more than I usually do. I start of jogging into the tree's and under a bridge. I like the when I jog under the bridge because the temperature drops. It reminds me of when I was a late teenager and was working construction on the Cape. This very moment reminds me of that nostalgia because when me and my friend Toby were done working construction in Chatham we would race dirt bikes. Specifically, Motocross bikes and they were fast. As we rode them up and down the hills on the Cape the temperature would drop and get heavy significantly down below the fog line. When heading back up to a jump the air would get warm and light again very quickly.
I always enjoyed that very much.
So I recall this memory when jogging under that bridge each time. Well the path continues through some wooded areas. Past a dirt bicycle trail. Today I can see a pack of boys. There are eight or nine of them huddling around an older one, probly recanting a dangerous and exaggerated story of some kind. I continue forward keeping good pace and rythm. I'm surpsrised at myself for even keeping good breathe teqniqices, breathing in my nose and out my mouth. The trail does some turns right and left and there are a few plaques that display information about certain trees.
At about this point I am half way, at least I imagine so in my head since I have no map of this path. I am running now right along side a stream what is flowing with brown muddy waters from a storm. Slowing down again I reach a road that bridges over the water. Now I sprint back towards the starting point.
I look over to my right and see a trailer park. I notice a woman who has come out of her house in an electric wheelchair. I dont know why but this puts a smile on my face. Maybe she is trying to keep up with me. I try to establich eye contact with her so I can flash her a smile. She doesn't notice me.
The sun feels go great on my skin, and the air is perfectly breezy.
My eyes are rolling back in my head. I feel like I just want to strech my arms up into the air as I run, and so I do. This makes me feel as thou I am about to take flight. For a few seconds I really wish that I can. My endorfins are running at such a high speed now I have not a care in the world.
Everything feels fantastic.
I like to think about the future and explore possibilites in this state of mind. I look ahead at the summer and the rest of the year in my head. Outlook so good!
The path in front of me now is a straight shot back to the High School parking lot. I started to slow my pace into a speed walk. Some Coach told me that one time somewhere it was good for my body to cool down.
Mission accomplished. I feel fucking fantastic.
At the car I see a significant number on the ground and I snap a pic for later. I get in my car feeling very positive.
As i am driving home I have a funny feeling that I will see my cousin Jackie. Two minutes later on the road as I pass by her house. I see her! Funny, I have not seen her in person for years but I recognized her the same. Jackie and I used to be very close when we were kids growing up because we are similar in age. Maybe we still have a connection. I'm feeling very psychic at this moment.
Quick ask me a question!
In the car i rest a momenet and tweet my journey. And withing seconds I get a Re Tweet!
My first RT ever! Its corny but it makes me so happy. It was a fitness twitter account and now everyone get to see my tweet!
#thisverymoment Nature Jogging/Walk is freeing my mind! =]

2 Strange 24 hour film/reality coincidences
I went through a car wash yesterday with my cousin Josh. We talked about how its one of our favorite childhood memories to be inside the car while its happening.
I got home the next morning and my mother was watching a film i love called Corrina Corrina. In this film the little girl character has a birthday party and is asked where her favorite place in the word is. This girl whispers into her mothers ear. The next shot int he film is from the inside of a car going through an automatic car wash.
This brought a huge smile to my face.
Something, there is something so escaping about being inside of an automobile inside of car wash. Watching through the windows as the machines wash and scrub with delicacy the car. Something about the way the windows flood up with white suds. The way the sounds whirl around the car like an animal. This I still remember from childhood with accuracy. So to see this moment be explained in a film just hours later felt special to me. I'm pretty sure this is why I have a passion for film.
On Easter Sunday I opened a link from a friend to a group from London called 'the 'Love Police' on YouTube. It was a eleven minute clip filmed with a flip cam or something of a couple who had a mega phone on a NYC subway. They were encouraging people on the subway to put down they're free newspapers, explaining that although they were free they were also filled with propaganda and taunt us with ads to buy shit we don't need. Instead they were encouraging strangers already on the train to applaud the people getting on at the next stop simply because we are human, and we should celebrate. As the subway car made its way deeper towards the busy city, with each stop more and more people boarded. But the end of the clip the subway car was filled with people smiling and clapping and laughing.
Watching this clip brought tears of joy to my face.
A couple hours later I went the movies, by myself on Easter. I watched a film that time allotted for. It was the 'Source Code'. It was pretty much what I expected from the trailers I have seen. A fast paced action film with a slight intellectual twist at the end. A friend exclaimed it was like 'Inception' times ten, hardly i was thinking. But when the film came to conclusion there was a moment that I really enjoyed. Gyllenhaal's character in the film was walking around the train and paid a comedian one hundred dollars just to make everyone on the train car laugh and have a good time. He encouraged the strangers to break down the invisible walls that divide us, and to celebrate being human and being more than civil but compassionate.
This threw me off guard and again I started to from a tear in my eye. Get out of my head I thought, completely unexpected. I suddenly didn't feel alone at the movies on Easter, but connected to the universe and all the wonderful potential and people inside it.. .

Factory Vision!
Factory Vision is what its like to put on the plastic clear glasses that are handed to you the first time you enter the factory. Thee protective eye wear you must wear at all times. Well I don't wear glasses or contacts lenses so these start to annoy me after a short while because they are not glass, but rather plastic. They distort your vision slightly, 'fogged' is as best as i can describe how you see after you put them on. A layer if you will over your perception of reality, mundane and control and un-excitement is my truthful exaggerated description.
After a while of wearing the eye wear everything starts to feel like a boring dream.
I stand mostly. Lucky if you sit for ten minutes or can find a seat for those ten. I stand there assembling 'blocks' that go onto 'rails'. There are many boxes of different size steal ball bearings that have to be laced into a green rubber and plunged into the boxes to create 'flow'.
"Am i paying attention?" I'm asked from my trainer, nice guy he could care less. Yes, I am paying attention, but not to my job. A monkey, well a smart monkey could assemble these things. I'm paying attention across my station to another where a young man sits, yes he gets to sit. The man is a white male probably around 32 years old, short light brown hair, average build slightly lengthy and skinny. He wears his uniform short sleeved shirt baggy, it make him appear younger looking. He looks like a cross between and good Midwestern farm boy and a Polish thug from Greenpoint Brooklyn.
Why have i noticed him? I started to dissect the situation. I come quickly to the conclusion. I am noticing this man because he is the only attractive male in the Green Room where I work. The Green room is more like a Lab than a factory. If you are imagining the Warehouses from the Terminator films where sparks and molten lava are flying everywhere as the battle of the century is happening, then you are off. This factory is nothing like that except for the fact that metal is everywhere.
Wow how my mind wanders during Factory Vision.
I look down at what I'm doing. I'm pulling a gauge across the rail testing its resistance, its too low so I add more grease with a grease knife. Ew, gross but whatever. I look up at the clock and then back over to the guy I consider cute at this point, by default. My trainer notices me looking in his direction. "Oh that's Aaron" he says without noticing my obvious stare because he is to nice or naive. Ah Aaron I think typical name, kind of predictable.
A bell rings, well its actually more like a tone. Very distant and unwelcoming, almost as if you didn't hear it you would miss out. "Break time!" exclaims my trainer with a huge smile. Nice guy, poor sap. We walk across the great big Green room, through a hallway and into the break room. Me and my trainer depart from each other, but before he goes he reminds me I can take off my eye wear. I forgot I had this ball and chain around my vision. Excited I whip them up off my eyes into my bangs.
Woah. I must warn you! Removal of Factory Vision is quit drastic and alarming.
Suddenly i am throttled back into reality. The reality is that i am standing in the middle of a large break room with clicks of factory workers sitting and staring at me, waiting to see where I am going to sit on this very first day just like a high school cafeteria. To appear to keep my cool, I did what I remember best from high school films and what few days I attended school. I look straight forward, walked and took a seat at the end of the table and whipped out my phone and buried my face in it. I don't feel like talking to anyone. I wonder where Aaron is..
Break time is over, Factory vision is back in full effect.
I'm back at my station and starring at Aaron again. He sees me this time, I don't even look away. Hmm this will be interesting. But no, its not. He just looks back at his job as if I don't even exist. Congratulations, now I feel like a teenage girl. He is not even that attractive, but I stare more and more now. Waiting for a smile, a nod, a look that he wants to fight me, but nothing. His face is buried in his work as mine should be. I look down at what I am doing, actually I am making good time. I feel slightly proud of myself so I glance over at the clock and its 7:47am. I wonder what I would be doing if I was in NYC right now. I shrug because it probably involves being awake for no good reason. I am also simultaneously thinking what my friends are doing at this moment. What percentage of them are doing something productive at this moment. Aaron adjusts himself, i chuckle. I' m thinking about my future and how long I can imagine myself working Factory Vision. Not very, I'm sure of that. Looking at Aaron again. Is that even his name? When will we be introduced? Will he like me? Could we be friends? He is the closest to my age. Do I have a crush on him? The more he ignores me, the more i am intrigued.
After I come back from this massive worm hole of thoughts I realize why I hear the other workers talking back and fourth with each other. Its because if you sit there quietly and watch your work before your eyes, it becomes so repetitious that you slowly become psychotic. Factory Vision.
So I take myself back out of that worm hole of though and put my head up and start asking questions and pretend to be interested.. .
